The W-List: HOW TO DEAL WITH INTERNET MARKETING TRENDS

Static. That’s how we spell our effort for our Internet Marketing. We are wrong! It changes a lot.

“I’ve got into Online Marketing world for about 4 years, but how came I didn’t get it to perfection?” This is one of the saddest things I’ve heard, as an online marketing guru from a friend– that evens our experiences cannot be our best teacher. Why? Because, indeed, it changes a lot.

Internet marketing is advertising and doing marketing efforts through the use of web to affect customer behavior. But since wants, needs, and even technology changes overtime, the effort is worth looking back again.

So what can be the best option of an online marketer to deal with this challenge? Simply, by knowing them well…and foreseeing these.

1. Content marketer is a royal. This is not a new discussion at all. Content marketing will always be on top. Our previous blogs already discussed how content marketing works in an online business. And indeed, content is the ‘KING’ and your customers are kings and queens, too for they spell how you will work for the next time you do an internet marketing effort.

  1. Leverage content. The needs of the people in relevant information are always at stake. With this, writing content must cater all those needs of the customers in an ever-changing world.
  2. Make content for special readers. Some readers wanted something new, something fresh, and even something horrible to read or watch. With this, thinking out-of-the-box concepts and ideas. These ideas are indeed mixed with internet marketing efforts to catch prospective customers.
  3. Traditional + Digital works.

Content as it suggest must be a “content”. What do I mean? How can you call content if it is not worth reading? To make it short, make content worth calling a “content”. This is the best asset for Internet Marketing.

2. Social Networking is reproducing. Social media marketing is also not new in internet marketing efforts. In fact, social media is effort is also growing, and millions and millions of business owners use social media as marketing platform for its populous environment.

And social media means ‘social’- dealing with people, listening, and making your business ‘sociable’.

The challenge now is how to face those competitors out there? Do these:

  1. Plan. Everything starts on planning. Start making a clear goal and make actions and tactics on How to achieve this through social media.
  2. Target audience well. Creating a list for prospective customer counts. This can help you to do tactics better, strategize and choose the best social media to utilize.
  3. Build an airspace. Let others know your product anywhere, anytime.
  4. Do competitive Analysis. Think about what are the bad guys up to? Who’s your competitor? What are they doing in social media? And what are your edge over them?
  5. Evaluate. Test and assess your social media marketing results. Do you need to make a better effort? Do you need to develop? These questions can be answered when you came up on a good evaluation plan.
  6. Be human. Touch human lives, visualize, add image like those 37% of companies that increase engagement in Facebook posts when they include photographs.
  7. Rebuild environment. Try rebuilding an environment with an expanded (and relevant) content in social media sites like Youtube, fb, twitter, WordPress, Vine, Google Plus, Pinterest, Tumblr, linked in, Instagram, VK, or Flickr. These are the top social networking today, so far.

3. Visual is better (and bigger). The proliferation of the usage of visually oriented contents is now trending around the net. This is also a prospective tendency for Internet marketing for the coming years. The rise of infographics, graphic designs in contents, comic style storytelling among others are some concept to use for internet marketing.

What to do? Create visual-oriented content and try to look at the following:

  1. 65 percent of the population is visual learners
  2. The brain processes visual information 60,000 faster than text
  3. 90 percent of information that comes to the brain is visual
  4. 14% increase in page views are seen when press releases contain a photograph.
  5. 60% of consumers are more likely to consider or contact a business whose images appear in local search results.

4. Mobile is a friend (Mobile app rocks). The rise of mobile phone paved way to the rise of necessity of the people to connect with the world through mobile phones. With this, Internet marketing must expand to the creation of mobile apps. This can address the following facts:

  1. The average age for the first cell phone is now thirteen years old
  2. 40% of shoppers consult 3 or more channels (often while shopping) before making a purchase thru mobile phones
  3. 4 out of 5 consumers use smartphones to shop.
  4. By 2014 mobile is predicted to overtake desktop Internet usage.
  5. 78% of retailers plan to invest in mobile this year.

5. ‘Simplicity is beauty’ rule rules. Simplicity doesn’t connotes boredom. Simple means beautiful, responsive and elegant design. Simplicity inspires trust (Kazebee, 2014) and defines trusts.

You must also ponder on two grounds: clear message and relevant image. Take a look at what google and apple have to say about this. They are simple yet they captivated millions of users. This is due to their direct message and relevant imaging. Also, they proved that simplicity means elegance and eye- friendly and not just being a plain old site.

Another point, don’t populate your site with too much navigation, images, pop-ups etc. It might be eye- friendly and annoying to users.

CONCLUSION
As the landscape of internet marketing changes overtime, business people must not worry about their process and tactics. They must always focus on their prospective customers, for I do believe that because of their needs (and wants) trends came in. With this, tactics is much easier to obtain. As what I’ve said in the body of this article, “customers are kings and queens for they spell how you will work for the next time you do an internet marketing effort.”
