E-Commerce Watch: What’s with the World of this Business?

While there is the concept of communication, there is marketing. Now, marketing works hand-in-hand with technology.  However, if there is the word called “competition”, then do e-commerce.

Since competition is seemingly unstoppable, business will never end up using traditional marketing strategies, instead they will engage to the application of technology –primarily the internet.  And while it’s clear that technology emerges really fast nowadays, marketing also expanded with this milestone through e- commerce.

E-commerce is the use of electronic communications and digital information processing technology in business transactions to create, transform, and redefine relationships for value creation between or among organizations, and between organizations and individuals (wikibooks, 2013).

Few examples of e-commerce are electronic payment, online auctions, internet banking and the most familiar e-commerce is online shopping.

Look at what HubSpot and Entrepreneur have to say about online shoppers’ behavior (2012):

- 44% of online shoppers begin by using a search engine;
- 61% of global Internet users research products online;
- 60% of people say they research consumer electronics and mobile/digital goods online before buying them with 25% purchases online; and
- online retail market will continue to grow, even bigger and faster.

The Rise of E-commerce

E-commerce grows really fast because of many grounds such as the following:

  1. Reaching millions of prospective consumers; it can even extend to home, work, and different mobile platforms and the rise of social networking sites;
  2. Decreasing the cost for communication since most of e-commerce sites are now interactive;
  3. Enabling global customer services  where prospective target audiences can be reached;
  4. Integrating video, audio, audio-visual, and text marketing into single marketing message; and
  5. Differentiating services and goods became easier leading to creation of “brands”.

CONCLUSION:

Marketing strategies emerges through the expansion of Information and Communication Technology. It is clearly enough that technology has become a vital tool for overcoming barriers and continued to emerge with any types of businesses –one is the rise of e-commerce. With its complexity and advantages, e-commerce made every people a step closer to business success.
